Blinks LED of a NIC card. Its used when you have multiple NICs and you want to identify the physical port of a particular ethernet card.
ethtool is used for querying settings of an ethernet device and changing them. In this example I setup 100 Mb/s full duplex on my Linux Box

A grep against ethtool to look for common errors and packet loss statistics which network drivers report in their private data, which is queried with ethool -S.
