Command line progress bar
This command tar?s up a directory and sends the output to gzip, showing a rate of 223MB/s. This may require you installing the pv command. For debian based users out there: $ sudo aptitude install pv

Stat each file in a directory
This will run stat on each file in the directory.

Scroll up (or Down (PgDn)) in any terminal session (except KDE)

Update twitter with curl
Same as below, but no quotes are necessary when twitting more than one word

Would create a file with a meaningful title. Dedicated to John Cons, who is annoying us users. Merry Christmas!!!

Which processes are listening on a specific port (e.g. port 80)
swap out "80" for your port of interest. Can use port number or named ports e.g. "http"

check open ports without netstat or lsof

List all installed PERL modules by CPAN
This command will give you the detailed information about the installed perl modules i.e. installed path, Link type, version, files etc.
