Using awk to sum/count a column of numbers.
Takes a input file (count.txt) that looks like: 1 2 3 4 5 It will add/sum the first column of numbers.

Immediately make a file empty. This even works if the file is still being written to. Great for cleaning up huge log files!

move up through directories faster (set in your /etc/profile or .bash_profile)
You can also remove the "&& pwd" if you don't want it to print out each directory as it moves up.

Use sed to remove the last line of a file only if it is empty.
