  • Use aws cli exclusively to query useful information about instances in a VPC

    Following in the steps of a few other scripts on here, I thought I'd mix in the ability to add in an instance tag output into this. This can be super useful if you are using the "Name" tag as a hostname tag and feeding that into, say Route53 for DNS to reach the machine. Helps for scripting against later. Show Sample Output

  • Add EC2 pem key to SSH

    This command adds your pem key to SSH so that you no longer have to manually specify it when connecting to EC2 instances. # you can do this: ssh ec2-instance.amazonaws.com # instead of this: ssh -i ~/.ssh/KEY_PAIR_NAME.pem ec2-instance.amazonaws.com Show Sample Output
