create a backup for all directories from current dir
Create backup (.tar.gz) for all first-level directory from current dir.

move you up one directory quickly
In bash, this turns on auto cd. If a command is just a directory name, it cd's into that directory.

Compare a remote file with a local file

download newest adminer and rename to it's version accordingly
If the version already downloaded. it will not download again

Prepend text to a file

remove comments from xml
xml with verbose commenting can be difficult to read. remove comments from xml.

Edit a file inside a compressed archive without extracting it
If you vim a compressed file it will list all archive content, then you can pickup any of them for editing and saving. There you have the modified archive without any extra step. It supports many file types such as tar.gz, tgz, zip, etc.
