Exclude inserting a table from a sql import
Starting with a large MySQL dump file (*.sql) remove any lines that have inserts for the specified table. Sometimes one or two tables are very large and uneeded, eg. log tables. To exclude multiple tables you can get fancy with sed, or just run the command again on subsequently generated files.

Print all lines in a file that are not a certain length
Alternatively, print all the lines that are a certain length: $awk 'length($0)==12 {print}' your_file_name

poor man's vpn
this easy to install tool redirects all traffic to internet through ssh. it's very usefull when connecting to free wifi. you need to start it as root because it needs permissions to change iptables settings. ofcourse you also need a shell account

list block devices
