tail from the last occurrence of a pattern to the end of the (log) file

I wanted a method to display the last run of my script from my log file. I had a pattern I could grep for to find the beginning of each run. This command line greps for that pattern in the log, finds the last occurrence and gives me the line number. Then I use the line number in tail to give me everything from that line number to the end of the log file. I tested this on Linux Mint (variant of Ubuntu) and on RHEL, but I suspect it will run many Linux systems.

apt-get upgrade with bandwidth limit

in Debian-based systems apt-get could be limited to the specified bandwidth in kilobytes using the apt configuration options(man 5 apt.conf, man apt-get). I'd quote man 5 apt.conf: "The used bandwidth can be limited with Acquire::http::Dl-Limit which accepts integer values in kilobyte. The default value is 0 which deactivates the limit and tries uses as much as possible of the bandwidth..." "HTTPS URIs. Change mysql prompt to be more verbose

You can put this into your shell sourced file like .bashrc or .zshrc to have a different mysql prompt. See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/de/mysql-commands.html for more informations. Beware that currently with mysql 5.5 the seconds are buggy and won't be displayed if you put this into a .cnf file. With the enironment variable this will work.
